Care Tips To Keep Your Clothes As Good As New

New clothes can unknowingly make you feel better but you obviously cannot wear something new every day. This is why you should try keeping all your clothes as good as new by following the below tips for washing them. these will help make your clothes last longer than usual.

• Use cold water to wash

When washing clothes at home, you must always use cold water as the hot water only wears out the fabric more quickly. You can wash some of the kids’ athletic clothes with hot water but otherwise only cold water must be used. Even if the garment is instructed to wash with hot water, washing it in cold water will not hurt it. All your clothes will remain just as strong and the threads will also stay strong.

• Use a front-loading washer

Most people use top-loading washing machines which have an agitator inside that pulls your clothes around. The front-loading washers are recommended because they use gravity to tumble clothes in and out of the water, much like the motion of a dryer. This movement is much gentler on your clothes and also helps prevent snags and tangling.

• Wash clothes inside out

The important part of the garment must always be protected and you can do so by simply turning your clothes inside out before you toss them into the washing machine. It may not seem like that big of an issue but some of the embellishments on the outside of a garment including screen printing can be easily worn away or snagged by the inside of the washer. The items with beading, embroidery, appliqués and other such details should always be washed inside out.

• Do not use chlorine bleach

Vinegar is known as a natural brightener that does not wear out the fibers of your clothing the way chlorine bleach does. Moreover, it is also better for the environment.

• Air Dry

Always try to dry your clothes in the open air because the heat from the dryer can tend to damage the fabric over time. They can even cause shrinkage, color fading and weakening of the material fibers.
